Okwunaezigwe: 'Kimkong' Onuwa Beaten, Hospitalized

The crisis rocking Okwunaezigwe autonomous community has taken another dimension with the beating and hospitalization of Mr Onuwa. In his continuous bid to arrest his supposed saboteurs, the man in the picture of the ezeship crisis rocking Okwunaezigwe autonomous community was allegedly attacked on Monday. It was gathered that Mr Onuwa, alias Ojiegbe-azaoku led a company of police officers in their Hilux vans to Umuezigwe for supposed arrest when he was attacked and mercilessly beaten by the youths of the village. His car was smashed even as it was alleged that the security men who accompanied him fled. However, after taking him to the hospital, the police men in their vans, who by now were reinforced, were seen heading to Umuezigwe for unknown mission as at the time of reporting. Ezeship Tussle: Okwunaezigwe In Crisis

The decision of the Imo State government to recognize Chief Chris Adigo as the Eze in the kingship tussle of Okwunaezigwe in Amuzi, Obowo LGA, might not have gone well with one of contenders, whose action seems to have plunged the community into crisis. It was gathered that uneasiness began to rear its head when one of the aspirants, apparently dissatisfied by the decision to recognize his opponent.  Mr.  Onuwa commonly known as Ojiegbe-azaoku, began the wanton arrest of those he felt  sabotaged his inordinate bid.
