The Second Quarter, A Victorious Start
Today, the 1st of April, marks the beginning of the year's second quarter. And today, by no prescribed order, is Easter, the glorious day of Christ's resurrection.
Today is indeed a remarkable day. It's a remarkable one because of the deep implication of the very feast it clutches. The resurrection of Jesus Christ carries with it a huge implication, especially amongst Christendom, whose faith is anchored upon the very reason of this period.
For the people whose faith are built upon the reason of the season, Easter is the bedrock of their faith, their being and their essence. It is that moment on which the spike that makes them christians shone forth. It is the birth of their faith-expression.
The historical procession that culminated with the event of the resurrection is momentous that makes celebration of Easter itself of great significance.
The birth of Jesus Christ was for the purpose of redemption of mankind; it's evidently for his death, which serves for the propitiation of the sin of man and to reconcile him with his creator.
Hus birth opened the fort of salvation. By his death, salvation was accomplished through the atonement which his blood wrought. What was the buoy that the effect of this reconciliation and salvation won should be very much appreciated andd as possible be transmitted to as many yet to come, who ordinarily are beneficiaries of the reconciliation impact?
It was the subsequent resurrection after this that gave the hope of life after death and the belief in the Christ that spoke of his mission of salvation, death and eventual resurrection. It is these hope and belief that necessitated in the faith-movement; of the beginning of the new faith in Christ the saviour.
Christianity, the new movement formed is the reflection of a life anchored on the resurrection. So Easter is the foundation of Christianity; and one would therefore not fail to understand how really remarkable this moment is.
What more remarkable is the fact that with this consciousness of the moment, we are stepping into a new quarter, the second in the year 2018.
It is therefore with this sense of Easter, the sense of the victorious resurrection that I wish to welcome all into the new month of April. It is to say that may you have, in the spirit of the season, a leading of victory and celebration from now henceforth.
May the joy of the Easter celebrations bring to you and family assurances of hope and victory. A happy Easter, and a happy new Month!
