Understanding Virtue As Desire For Common Good

Virtue is that which builds and upholds the common good. In a world that's communally shared and that's inhabited in an innate social harmony, virtue is highly needed to make same a better place for all.


From my end, virtue is good thoughts, good actions that are geared towards the common good. Although, decoratively, virtue is defined as behavior showing great moral and ethical standards, its purpose is to make humans be really humans to both their species and their environment.


Everyday, even as much as society seems to wander apart from the fabric of humanity, tilting rather fearfully to heightened acts of intense antagonism to what's virtue, the place of virtue in sustaining the elementary focus of the human race cannot be downgraded.


The fact is that the whole of nature is fashioned in a discreet fabric of morality and takes the fibres of virtues and ethics to hold same stronger. Straddling aware from the core elements of nature just merely impresses the passing elements of time and heavily throws away the human components from its stability and harmony.


It is inherent on you as an individual therefore to choose between momentary yet debilitating pleasure of the self by values contrary to established natural norm or fashioning your ambitions and desires in accordance with the virtues of nature and life. 


This is pertinent a choice to make, for every act of virtue is definitely and justly reciprocated; the exception to this is merely an injustice that shall not escape recompense.


Think this deeply as you live out your mission whilst also letting others assert theirs. For nature in its abundance has made all provisions available for all. Understand this and understand how real and bliss it is to live within the ambit of what you're worth so the next person may also live his worth. This is virtue.


Nothing distorts the natural process of the harmony of human coexistence than the greedy vice to deny others a share. This is one denial of virtue that the natural order shakes off to maintain innate stability. Are you selfish and greedy? You might, by streak win today, but remember also: that by streak you'll be required to pay back. By nature!


Live and let others live is the pursuit of virtue. And virtue itself is the summary of life and its attendant commitments. Know this and know life.


Truly, your life is your mission to live. But take this from me as you go along: that every effort to run against the tide eventually leads to an end without results. For the very ground you walk upon can only carry you only and only if you respects its values!

Very applauding, it was, to hear of the news of the resignation of the minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun. It's very commendable because it is one act very rare in this our clime. It just seems that the penchant for relevance and money has denied the vast majority of the people that essential sense of integrity. That denial is one that has brought about the desire to cling unto power even in the midst of opprobrious criticism to just step down.
