PERSONALITY DEV'T: Character Ethic Versus Personality Ethic

Personality development entails building the individual into an acceptable form that's well appreciated. It is the packaging of a person so as to wear an outward form that reflects a huge definition of values.

But mostly, personality development has been made to be seen as a response to personality ethic, which itself basically, is a reflection of those efforts that seek to present the individual as happy even when he's deep down eaten up.

By personality ethic, it is the bending of outward attitude against the inside values so as to look positive even when negative inside, hopeful even when totally enervated inside and inspiring even when not in the least. It is those effort that seek to make the individual relate to the poor, inferior people, which ordinarily he wouldn't, just to achieve a purpose.

But then, personality ethic stands mostly in deference to the more deeply rooted, more engrafted, more strongly founded character ethic. Against character ethnic, personality ethic is very shallow built, is superficial and mostly showy.

Personality development fills the gaps needed in a relationship where the impact seems to be short termed, ephemeral and instantaneous. It brings to bear a deceptive bearing, where for the sake of meeting the goal of the moment, the individual assume it.

What's the point of focus? It is that when individual focus on personality ethic, it is the commitment to the effort to appear presentable and conformed to those social norms which are valuable. However, these assumptions are by and large, not genuine, are not deeply rooted and hence do not reflect the individual's true value, because they mostly stream from an outside-inside approach.

However, the foundation of every personality development is the inward focus, the inside values, whose reflections are functions of unconscious efforts. They are what basically define the individual; those integral part of him, that wherever he is and in whatever he does, he mostly show them.

Because they are true, they are the manifestation of inward basics, character ethic serves as the very basis of personality development.

Thus, to really develop into individuals with values and essence to inspire, we must start from the ground work: in redefining our value system, and in building solid, appreciable characters.
