Rail Lines For Economic Development...By Anthony Okediran
The stage is gradually taking shape, especially as regards the politics of 2019. And men would vie for positions.
But then, I would want to put up an issue for campaign, one that should regulate how we vote, and one which I suggest we all should vote for.
I want to nominate rail lines for economic development. Infrastructures and institutions make the economy. There is no politics without economy. Analysis of consumer price indices shows a bulk commitment on transport cost. There is a variation in the prices of given goods between locations.
But then, an effective transport system plays a vital role in price determination. Producers consider demand prior to commencement of production. It is the assurance of ease access to markets that ensures increase production.
There are many values of the speed rails. They ensure profitable movement of skills and products. They help bring goods and services to optimal use.
More so, rents would reduce as less persons would drag the few homes in town. Artisans and merchants can use timed coaches to serve and return home to extended family life which is important in increasing crop production.
Pressure on the road would reduce, leading to reduced cost of road maintenance and thus ensure there is more to invest on other sectors.
Also, rail transport would cause an increase in tourism. As the transport cost reduces, safety assured and more persons visit tourist sites . The social media would get more posts which invites foreign tourist. It is vain to think we can invite tourist without local holiday makers.
Very significantly, the rail lines would unite us all. We just hear of cannibals . It would be cheap to travel to meet the warm welcome of godly herdmen.
There would be less imports as the rail lines would ensure regular supply of raw materials. Local producers would not only produce but trade and improve turn over. Getting to the air and sea port would be cheaper for greater foreign exchange earning .
The rail line is capable of unleashing a new economic order. Therefore, it's time we use the fast lane via the speed rails, and as such should demand of them from those, who soon would be seeking for our mandates.
