IWD2020: Each-for-Equal

As has being norm, the world has a special place for women today as today, worldwide, is marked as women's day. And today, the world talks about creating a gender balance for the expression of the rights of women. #Each4Equal

Every 8th of March is recognized by the United Nations as International Women's Day, particularly to celebrate the gallantry of women and to appreciate the efforts of those who are alive and the memories of those of them that have passed on.

It's a global event that seeks to celebrate and highlight the social, political, cultural and economic achievements of women around the world. And to look at it from this perspective, there abound women of different cultures, ages and professional callings that have distinguished themselves and are worthy of the celebration that they are offered today.

Many women, realizing their inherent prospects, have gone beyond the primary responsibility of childbearing they're known for, into creating impacts by their commitments that transcend every facets of human endeavours. They have changed the old narratives, wherein they are circumscribed in the limited sphere of the kitchen to manifest life-changing contributions.

Today, we see women in politics, serving as heads of states and government. We see them in banking and financial sector, where they show sagacity in economic policies and programs. They have been found to do remarkably in the academics and educational sphere.

Through their acceptance and understanding of the expressive and influential platforms, women have made their voices and influences heard. Women authors and writers have made profound contributions through their writings and presentations. Women motivational speakers, have shown also that their own gender are not only to be spoken to but to be heard.

We cannot forget also the roles women have been playing in engineering and emerging technology. Indeed, they have proven the old saying that what a man can do, women can do, and sometimes even better.

In the 2020 international women's day, gender equality and the rights of women take centre stage. The theme for the year, "I Am Generation Equality: Realizing Women's Rights" speaks so boldly about the aim of the womenfolk to break even further the bar in the effort to impress in a world largely described as a man's world.

As we take the event of this day to heart, we must not forget our own contributions towards opening the space for women to speak out and show forth their appreciable inherent prospects, whose usage will add to making a better world.
