Snake Causes Panick, Grounds Plane In Dubai

There was a startling drama as a snake was discovered in a passenger plane, Dubai.


The passengers on an Emirate flight were confronted by a snake that fell from an overhead storage compartment. Nobody was hurt in the incident but a few passengers were rattled.

The scheduled flight on January 8 was due to depart Muscat in Oman for Dubai before the reptile was discovered, said the airline.

The animal was found before Sunday’s flight from Oman, the airline said in a statement, adding that the aircraft was returned to service after being thoroughly searched.

I've been keenly following the developments as regards nominations for the position of the Director General of the World Trade Organization, WTO, especially as its concerns the general ratification by the African regional body, AU, to field a consensus candidate. In doing that I've looked at the nomination of Fred Yunov Agah and the eventual substitution with Ngozi Okonjo Iweala (NOI) by Nigeria, together with the dissension by Egypt, a contender in the forthcoming WTO election and a top interested party in the choice of Africa Union consensus candidacy.
