Our hopeless situations, oftentimes they come, give us the impression of a period so totally empty and vacuous; of a period when nothing seems to be available, to be working. The impression it gives us is mostly that of worries, of thoughts that most times breeds unwelcoming concerns. When things appear hopeless, it is practically that moment when it seems everything, every support is gone; it is that period of uphill task when the individual feels he stands alone, just by himself, at mercy's end. When what ordinarily is seen as what makes him a man and her a woman is far gone: no money, no means of getting any. He or she looks right and left, up and down, but to see just nothing, emptiness staring and digging at him, at her. That particular moment he is hopeless. But the truth, however not often seen at a shallow look, is the irony that percolates the situation. Belief, generally, is the acceptance by the mind of what has been received. According to Munro, our beliefs come from the ideas we've been exposed to or have developed from our observations and analyses. On the other hand, conviction depicts that a mind has seen the proof of something which it could accept; it means a sense of being sure of something. In believing, some of the ideas we received might be true or false,  but they soon form our belief system or philosophy once they have been incorporated. This brings the question over the veracity and relevance of what we believe. It's as such necessary to make good reviews of the things we've been exposed to before we accept them to form a deep part of our minds. Some staff members of the Bayelsa state owned radio station, popularly known as Glory FM were alleged to have been flogged by the General Manager. Mr John Idumaye was said to have flogged some three female staffers and one male, Mr.  Tonye Yemoleigha, who happens to be the station's NUJ chairman. According to Tonye, "We have reported the matter to the Ekeki police Division and sought medical attention at the Federal Medical Center, Yenagoa." After the station went off air due to the strike embarked upon by aggrieved members,  the GM was accused to have mobilized some police men and some of the staffers who had refused to join the strike to reopen the station. Although no reasonable programs were aired, the station kept playing some musicals all through. While the NUJ chairman in the station had accused Mr Idumaye of not carrying them along and sidelining the Public Service Rules in his policies, the GM said some of the staff members were being used to scuttle his

Chen, a 17-year-old high school sophomore, working as a food vendor, had just finished a food delivery to a customer when he got a phone call, asking him to make another one. But while he answered the call, he accidentally hit and scratched a BMW. Chen hastened to make delivery first. The boy, first of all, made delivery of second order and returned to compose an apology letter which he left at the scratched car. According to CNN, in the morning, when the BMW driver, Xue Zhanmin, assessed the damage to his scratched car, he found a letter the teen had glued to the car door along with 311 yuan ($45) in cash.  Touched by the delivery boy's honesty and realizing he probably came from a poor family, Xue asked the local traffic officer to help him find Chen. As the story circulated through local media reports, he eventually did. When the boy was brought to him, Xue not only returned the boy's 45dollars but gave him 10,000 yuan (approx. $1400)for his honesty.

A pastor in Rivers state, Monday, declared that for the reasons of immoral acts going on in BBNaija, that God is not happy with the TV reality show. Pastor Michael Winning said that the sponsors of the program will suffer bankruptcy if they continue to support the show. "I curse with anger anybody busy sponsoring Big Brother Nigeria. If they attempt sponsoring it next year, may their resources dry up," he wrote on his Facebook Wall. The post has long been deleted. An unexplained soot has taken over the sky bed of Port Harcourt, Rivers state, downing black dust on inhabitants. Residents of the city has taken to twitter to post pictures with the hashtag #StopTheSoot, in expression of protest over the situation and calling on the governments to do something. Various sources have been blamed for the situation, with some claiming it's the attitude of residents who are prone to burning tyres and rubbers, others blamed it on the actions of construction companies.  A twitter user, @PolygraphM had tweeted: #stopthesoot CGC Construction Company Along obiri ikwerre Airport link Road has been shut down by RS task force on black soot. An Islamabad High Court in Pakistan's capital on Monday banned the celebration of Valentine's Day across the country 'with immediate effect.' The order prohibits any form of media adverts that reference Valentine's Day. It also proscribed the sale of associated merchandise stating that 14th February  cannot be celebrated in "any public space or government building." The judgement, according to report by CNN, came after a citizen called Abdul Waheed filed a petition claiming that ongoing promotions of Valentine's Day were "against the teachings of Islam and should be banned immediately." In Pakistan, resistance against Val's Day is not completely unusual with protests and rallies held every February 14 against it.

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, today spoke with Nigeria's president Muhammadu Buhari. The discussion focused on commendation and assurances of mutual cooperation. While Trump commended his Nigerian counterpart on the some of the successes recorded in the war against insurgency, especially the rescue of some of the Chibok schoolgirls, Mr Buhari congratulated Trump on his victory and inauguration. In what is seen as the first conversation with Buhari and his first call to any African nations, the controversial US president, whose campaign rhetoric on Africa made the call a surprise, sought on improved bilateral relationship with Africa's giant. He promised to support the ongoing war against the Islamist Boko Haram by sending a bill that would support the funding of Nigeria on arms purchase to Congress. The Chukwuma Nwoha junction, intersecting the Aladinma and MCC roads in Owerri, Imo state, was made a scene when a heavy-duty truck crushed to death a traffic control police man on duty, Monday evening. The incident happened around some minutes past 8.0pm. Visiting the scene of the accident, a butchered body having on the Nigerian police uniform lay on the ground, with a cut out hind limb just some distance away. The limb which was complete from the thigh down had a booth on. It was suspected that the policeman was standing on the road as part of his duty when the truck rammed into him,slicing him completely into an unrecognizable divide of crushed trunk that bore a head and separately detached limbs. The truck in question was seen parked just ahead the body on the road. The Chukwuma Nwoha junction of the MCC road has always had the presence of traffic police who regulate motor movement. The 59th Annual Grammy Awards was held yesterday with much display of musical performances with a little of one of political statement that suggested the existing political situation in the US, where Adele and Beyonce stole the show. Adele, who made a rendition of her "Hello" song and a tribute of George Michael's "Fast love " where she lost track, swearing and apologizing, went home with five Grammy's. A 42 years old woman had a live cockroach removed from inside her brain. This happened at the hospital in Stanley Medical College, India. A report from CNN indicated that the woman had come to the hospital complaining of a headache that was accompanied by itching and difficulty in breathing. A doctor conducted an endoscopy to determine the source of her pain. At first he didn't see anything. Then he did -- the legs of some kind of creature. "The cockroach had burrowed into the roof of the nose, almost near the skull base, which is the dividing point between the brain and the nose," Shankar said. In life, we win because we decide to so have it and because we have such attitude. It is entirely our personal acceptance of what is our disposition that crafts us into success or failure. That's to say, perception defines knowledge and self-perceptibility categorizes our worldview. People have failed because they answered to other's description; leaving what you are cut out for, to follow other's destination, to be guided by their decisions, to be accessed by their specific, individualized parameters of success and failure is the acceptance of self-worthlessness and it is remarkably failure. The thing about failure is that it is significantly a thing of the mind, it is about how one sees himself, appreciates his worth and whatever it is they have or haven't achieved. Failure is a mindset, a belief that is initiated in the mind even as success is a journey that starts from the mind, one that a man embarks upon, knows the destination himself and accesses it himself.

A 25 year old man was said to have axed the father to death. In a situation seen as a disagreement resulting from what ostensibly should  be a quiet, petty dispute with his brother over his marriage choice, the man, aggrieved, rather mistakenly fell the axe on his father, not once, not twice. Would the third instance not have informed him, even if the first and second hadn't as to suggest error, that he had had his father for a chop? Thought, a product, as its process of thinking, is an inevitable phenomenon. What could she be thinking Thinking could be inferred as the act of conception, of creating concepts, and sometimes it goes along with imaginations, and whose end may be in manifest words and actions. It is an inevitable process of the mind. Thinking is an internal process, skewed within the confines of the mind, evolving through what is assumed to be a spontaneous process and crafting essentially the product of thoughts. This is to say thought is the immediate product of the thinking process. We have discovered that mostly our mind's preoccupation is the thought or thinking process, to the extent that we think and continue to think without thought. We think and continually spew thoughts in as long as we are alive, awake and aware. But why is it so? Why does it seem we inevitably think? We think because essentially it is what defines the mind, the prominent component of a person that is alive

President Buhari was supposed to have returned to the country, today, 6th of February, 2017 after having exhausted the 10 days medical leave for which he did communicate to the Senate. Still on the Tuface Hardship Protest... I think we have better things to do with our energy, for our country and at this admittedly hard moment than protesting. Nothing that can be effectively changed, bettered and sustained by protest than by effective dialogue, credible suggestions and deep-rooted discreet civic sensitization. Tuface, by his indication for a protest, raved up interests, he charged up zeal and he has inspired people who were meaning to join the movement his name has identified, though he missed the ultimate end in having his building supports disappointed by the last minute back down. But just as he rightly said, he had made a statement; and let's believe so. But I believe also, that it would have been more efficacious if, considering his personality and influence, Tuface had made that statement in a mature way by engaging the authorities; he would have been availed that chance. Instead he chose to scurry empathy, more popularity by making it a crowd thing
